NOVA Emulsion Screen Printing
NOVA Emulsion Screen Printing is a One-Part SBQ, fast drying and fast exposing photopolymer emulsion based on SBQ technology and monomers with fast photo-initiators to make the product more quickly, mainly "LED " lights. NOVA is one of the fastest-exposing emulsions available that may be used for Plastisol, UV, and solvent ink systems. Nova works best on an i-image unit and does not clog the filters like many other one-part products. Nova does not obstruct the sewer system.
Nova is a one-part SBQ Emulsion for Screen Printing that is a pre-sensitized, ready-to-use textile emulsion and is recommended for Plastisol inks and solvent inks.
NOVA offers durability and an excellent image. Nova yields a smooth, even coating, sharp edges, and high resolution. Since this emulsion is based on SBQ technology, it does not require diazo and should be handled only in a yellow safelight environment. Because of its high solids content, coated screens dry in less time and require fewer coats. In most cases, one coat on each side of the screen is all that is needed.
Highlights
- developed for plastisol, UV, and solvent ink systems
- fast exposure
- long shelf life
- easy to reclaim
- very high resolution
- Zero pinholes if apply properly
- excellent edge definition and bridging
Specification & Data:
- color: lavender
- solids 50%
- viscosity: 11,000/12,000 cps @72 F-Brookfield viscometer
Guideline:
before applying the emulsion on the screen, make sure that screen is cleaned with degreaser and dried thoroughly. let the emulsion dry and then wash with a soft mist of water to create the image
Exposure:
Distance for the exposure should be about one and a half times the diagonal measurement of the artwork from point light sources. Yellow and orange mesh require at least 50% more time than white mesh.
The times given below are based on the white mesh at approximately 40 inches. Metal halide 25 seconds 3000 watts carbon arc 20 seconds 60 amps fluorescent tubes 35-60 seconds 40 watts
Exposure times below were set for 5 kW unit at 40" from the frame.
